What does it mean to "east seasonally"? It means that tomatoes are NOT grown year round in Virginia unless there is a hot-house involved. Sorry - you will not be able to get tomatoes, cucumbers, and other yummies just yet at the market. What is in season then? Think cold stuff - lettuce, cabbage, asparagus, things like that.
I found this interactive map and it gives you SOME ideas but not all....
Another thing that irks me (ok I think it irks Joe more).... all because Home Depot is selling plants does NOT mean it's time to plant them! General rule - no tomatoes in the ground until after the last frost.... so after Mother's Day at least.
There is a good chart for that (gotta love google sometimes).... Go with Winchester and maybe add a day or 2 - so after 5/3 at LEAST!
Got stuff in the ground already? You may need to cover it a couple nights - so be prepared.
